Christian Horse Camps

Wow - another year has passed! Well, at Majestic Arabians Ranch we
have some wonderful, fun and exciting Christian horse camps coming up for 2010.
Click here to see a slideshow of this years camps!
At Majestic Arabians Ranch we offer children a safe, fun, and loving experience in our horse camps, and in their walks with God.
In our camps the children will gain confidence and ability in learning great skill in horsemanship, how to relate to horses, controlling their horse, basic to advanced skills, tack, equipment, anatomy of the horse and much more. The children that are at the beginner's level will be learning everything by riding bare back just as I teach in my riding lessons. The children in the intermediate to advanced level will be able to ride with saddles. We will be riding three hours per day. I will be splitting the lessons into two sessions: 1.5 hours in the morning and 1.5 hours in the afternoon. Fridays are our show days where the children get to show their parents all the new skills and games that they've learned through the week. I will have little prizes for all the children for their accomplishments.

Extra Fun Things and Activities
We will be teaching the children gymkhana games, fun horse games, barrels, jumping (at low level beginner skills) and much more. We will be having nature walks, games, crafts, clinics, bonfires and wiener roasts. We will also be taking the children swimming.
Their Walk With God
The Question will be " What Would Jesus Do?" in these areas of their lives:
Moral Boundaries
Ultimate Authority
Putting Others First
I believe that if we can demonstrate authentic faith and teach our children God's view on healthy friendships, wise choices and putting others first, they will grow up being able to make choices that will lead them away from trouble, allow them to have uplifting, God-glorifying friendships and accomplish God's will through considering others.

Riding Lessons:
At our ranch we offer riding lessons to home schooled children, schooled children, young, old, or just needing to refresh your skills. We create a fun, safe and loving environment for the children to learn many skills in riding and horsemanship.
What we cover in our riding lessons:
- Safety around horses
- English and Western riding
- Horse tack and equipment
- Tacking up and untacking a horse
- Basic riding skills such as how to make a horse go forward, stop, turn right and left
- Jumping, Western pleasure, barrels, gymkhana, roping etc.
We start all of our students off riding a horse bareback so that the child can learn their balance and feel how a horse moves and how to move with the horse. Once I am confident that they have their balance, they can then move into a saddle and by this point the child has learned all basic skills and can move into whatever area of riding they wish. Students with some or lots of riding experience I will start off by asking them to show me what they have learned to make sure that what they have learned is safe and correct and also to move them ahead in their riding skills. Parents are also welcome to take riding lessons with their children. We supply the lesson horse, tack and equipment. Parents of children who have their own horses and would like to trailer in are more than welcome.

Well what can I say about horseback riding lessons with Val. We came to Val as a homeschooling family who wanted to get their daughter involved in something to do with animals. As she is a child that loves animals. Ralena started off uncertain what to expect. After the first lesson she was hooked, she loves the horses and trusts Val to make the right decision when it comes to her safety on horseback. Ralena has had her ups and downs :) but is always ready to go back after lessons. Ralena is learning on bareback, this has improved her balance on the horse.

My Daughter has been going to Majestic Arabian Ranch since 2007. She has learned to have confidence around horses as well as riding. She now knows how to take care of a horse and enjoy going to see Valerie to learn more. I have total trust and respect for what Valerie does. She has made my daughter's learning experience a great one.

Valerie has been teaching my son Daniel riding lessons for the past two years, building his confidence and his skills. She’s been teaching him endurance; strength and balance. He started on bareback then progressed to saddle. She has brought him to a level where he felt confident in trail riding up in the Yaw Ha Tindas for two weeks. I’ve known Valerie for years trusting her with my son at an early age in her day home; to having my son there on regular visits at here ranch. I have full and complete faith in her abilities; her caring heart sees no boundaries when it comes to kids and their dreams.

“My 7 year old daughter started riding for the first time this year. I was immediately impressed with Valerie’s insistence on getting her comfortable on bareback 1st and becoming a good horsewoman – not just a good saddle rider. Val is great with keeping her informed, explaining each step and developing confidence. It is definitely worth the hour ride from Red Deer!!”

Dear Valerie
I loved the horses, the food and all the activities. My favourite thing was learning to ride bareback. I missed everything when I left.
I would love to come back next year.
YOUR FRIEND
MEGAN.!!!
My two daughters named Michelle and Jennifer which are 13 and
11 years old, started riding lesson in June at Valerie Weiss
place. They started riding bareback until they were able to
canter. Now both of them are riding in a saddle. Valerie
taught my kids really well. During our time when we took
riding lessons Valerie showed us a paint mare which she had
for sale named Smartie. Michelle then started riding
her, after awhile we decided to buy her. Smartie is a great
horse and Michelle likes her very much.Jennifer also enjoys
riding lessons very much. Valerie showed my kids leg heels,
half halt, sidesteps and much more. Michelle is now riding
Dusty a purebred Arabian. Valerie is now showing my kids how
to do barrel racing. Next year they will want to join shows
and competions.
